About our Students

KSU’s MES students come from diverse undergraduate backgrounds. They share a desire for meaningful employment with a commitment to human values.

KSU is committed to diversity. It takes pride in its distinctive heritage as a historically black land grant university, and is Kentucky’s most racially diverse institution of higher education. The MES program’s evening and online courses are tailored to suit the needs of non-traditional students, including mature students pursuing additional credentials while maintaining careers or families. 

Graduates of the KSU MES program will hold positions as environmental professionals in government, non-profit and private sectors. MES graduates will provide critical leadership in improving the overall quality of life for Kentuckians as they address the needs and demands of a growing population and changing environment. Some students will use the MES program to prepare for doctoral studies in environmental fields.
